Felix Hemmingsson, M.Sc. Student

Brief Bio:
I finished my bachelor in Chemical Engineering at Chalmers University of Techology in the spring of 2014 and later enrolled in the masters program Materials Chemistry in the autumn of 2014 at Chalmers.

My bachelor thesis was a study of the recombination (a non-desired pathway) of a dye-semiconductor pair in a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC), and how the solvent affected this.

I am currently working with photon upconverting nanoparticles for my masters thesis under the supervision of Victor Gray.

Current Research Activities:
The introduction of photon upconversion, by processes such as triplet-triplet annihilation, into the solid state is of great interest for several applications. I am evaluating and developing the applicability of using photon upconverting nanoparticles for applications such as sensors and bioimaging.
